It will be hard to work full time as a commissioner and working s clerk of the works at valleydale school. Man I would like to make hos money retirement 70,000 a year commission 22,500.00 year clerk of the works 50,000 = a lot of money.
We know who the suck now. But he will get millions of dollars a year in grants for clay he said that at every political function he was at.

Did anybody really believe his political hype? He hasn't told the truth for umpteen years & you're gonna believe him NOW?

That kind of stupidity is exactly what he was counting on to get him elected. Looks like he might really be the smartest guy in Clay County.

Lets all write DNR at French Creek and congratulate them on taking down the signs paid for by the Taxpayers in Clay County. Also ask that they name the new Lake at Wallback. I do believe that (Amvest Lake) is the appropriate name for it to be given since they were the ones footing the bill for it anyway. Roll that off your tongue a time or two Amvest Lake much easier to say then Sampson Dam. Thanks to Fola Coal we have another wasted space in Clayberry.

While Mr. Sampson did do a lot of work on getting the lake started and completed, HE WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE!

Some of them chose not to be in the spotlight and work behind the scenes.

To name it after one person is wrong. It is a lake for the county and should be named as such.

Now don't go giving me hell over this comment either. I am well aware of what Fred did and I thank him for that BUT again he was not the only one.

Fola Coal had no intentions of building anything in Clay Co. One person, Fred Sampson single handedly forced the use of the mitigation$.

Anonymous25043 name one that worked on this project beside Fred and what did they do if you know so much about it. Let see how much you really know but i figure you don't know jackshitt just like a lot of other people.

Fola Coal is the best thing that has ever happened to Clayberry because they are the only ones that don't knuckle down to Andy's gang. And look at all the money they have spent here for the betterment of the Ambulance Service no less. I mean when they call needing an ambulance they break their necks getting over there to the job. Its the only call that gets them on the go up there. Amvest Lake sure sounds good to me also so I am going to write to DNR and suggest that it be named that also. Makes sense to me.

I must have missed something. Where did the word "Amvest" come from?
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 1:34 AM, July 25, 2006

Amvest is the company name that owns the land, minerals that is being mined under the name Fola Coal Company lone stranger. Add lake to it gives it a nice ring doesn't it.
AmVest Lake say it, really sounds better then Sampson Dam.

i was under the impression that the money that built the dam was repayment for environmental and ecological damage done against the normal way of things in rhe county. reparations to the citizens. it was not something done voluntarily by the coal co. and so they have no part in the dam. it belongs to the citizens of Clay co. my opinion off the top

Yes but lone stranger even though they had to do it or pay a huge fine for destroying Leatherwood and Twenty Mile Creek I have my doubts that people living along either creek will ever even see AmVest Lake. Also I doubt that building a 15 acre lake will replace either creek that is miles and miles long. Its just another bribe paid to elected officials to keep the "Good Ole Boys" in Charleston, money coming in each month.
Let them catch you burning trash along the creek or river and see if you can build anything to pay your fine. If you do get to build something make sure you have them name it after you. It could read something like Lone Stranger Lake or Lone Stranger Field. Anyway don't forget to get their check in the mail each month.

l don't follo9w your conversation. what person gets a check? what person puts a check in the mail? that is probably what was supposed to happen had not Fred upset the cart by insisting the coal co. should actually do what they had agreed to.

it is my belief that had not Fred insisted some politicians would have pocketed some money and the majority of the fine would have been forgotten.

When a deal goes through at that level I can't name names of who gets the money. One thing is for certain, Coal Companys do have ways of not paying fines, skipping out on bonds that cover maybe 1/100 of what it takes to clean up the mess they make. Easier to skip then repair the damage and loose the small bond. If they had to reclaim as they went Vandalia would not have had 29 miles to reclaim. So I guess you will have to figure out who gets the check to close their eyes. My guess would be DNR and EPA officials and higher ups are getting the bribe money.

Of the 430 Fola Coal employees
only 23 are come from Clay County.
Good Corporate neighbors? Ask them when was the last time they paid their mandatory monthly ambulance fee per employee.
Good Corporate neighbor? Ask them why they sat on the $1.4 million for 8 years before being forced to do something by Fred Sampson.
Good Corporate neighbors? Ask them why they said they waould do the site development work at Valley Dale Elem and then bailed out.

i might add that if the lake belongs to the citizens of Clay co. then the DNR is under no obligation to stock the lake since they are a state organization. but it would seem they would be responsive to the desires of the people instead of trying to force what they want down our throats. after all Mr. Knotts[Ray] was born and grew up in Clay co. "BUT" he may not want that known.

Didn't take ole Ray Knotts long to learn that Clayberry would remain under the watchful eyes of the Andy Clan and would allow nothing to happen here. Didn't take him long to get a job out of the county and leave here either. Now as for being Corporate Neighbors, why should they get Welfare people to work? Why would they want anyone that is 4th generation Welfare to hold their job up. As far as that goes over in Nicholas County where they are doing most of their work anyway, People that have been taught to work, not draw welfare, foodstamps, look for a handout, steal you blind if I get a chance attitude, they Fola Coal,AKA AmVest Corporation got most of their workforce. And as far as 23 men working from Clayberry on that job YOU better get a recount almost that many working there off Sycamore Ck at Indore Wv.
Now for paying a Mandatory fee to the Ambulance Service. If you use it pay for it, if you don't use it why pay. Insurances, are paying throught the nose for that bunch of overweight bunch sitting on their fat behinds drawing a big salary with all the benefits and can't find anywhere but Church Street in Clay in a given time period or over at Maysel Manor. I am sure Fola Pays Through the nose for their Insurance just like the rest that have it.

The Summers Family name has been around since clay co. was founded. There is a gang of them buried right near the dam. Would'nt Summers Fork Lake be a fitin name?
