the queen of the tarts,
she bopped some farts
to prove that she's a hottie.

the king of the farts,
he's lead by his parts
and is known to be quite naughty.

so they fiddled around
and didn't think twice
about the attention they were paid.

& the poor ol' spouses,
left out in the cold ...
the only ones not getting laid.

Nothing surprises me anymore but it would be a good thing if the voting public would get out to vote and not the brown nosers working for the Board of (Aggrevation) oppps Education. Here he lies (stiff as always) but never a levy did he ever vote yes on.

VOTE NO ON EXCESS LEVY they are wasting enough taxpayers money as it is.

Link was my high school principal. He always made time for you if you had a problem. The thing that impressed my most was that he always spoke to you in the hall. If he saw you three times in one day, he spoke each time. And, he knew your name. CCHS has gone down hill since he left there.

To The Mule: The December Editor's Note in National Geographic states that the ivorybill woodpecker was seen flying along a small Arkansas stream. That sighting is being challenged. There hasn't been a sighting of an ivorybill in 62 years in the U.S. except for a fuzzy video offered as evidence. Why is Texas getting money for research? Shouldn't they be sending the money to Arkansas where the bird was last seen??

All across the state BOE's are voting in drug testing for students with parents consent. Well CCBOE you have my permission to drug test all the teachers and employees of the school system. Also when you do test them and they have "meth" and various other drugs show up you also have my permission to fire every single one of them. Now wouldn't that be the hoot to fire the drughead teachers in the counties and they also would loose their pensions that I have to pay for, compliments of school teacher legislature in Charleston.
I bet we would save enough money so that bill could be reversed and besides since I am paying into the pension plan when I pay my insurances I wonder if I can get a lawyer and sue for my pension. May be the only one I ever get.

I just think that it is about time that someone with intellegence is actually serving a public office in clay. We have certainly had our share of idiots. Go Link! You've got my support!

I am voting for the levy also. If you travel anywhere in this country you see that the schools that are the most successful are those that have a good levy backing them. Hell our levy is nothing compared to what other places have. People here are so cheap. Most people that vote here dont even pay taxes.

Has anyone checked to see how much larger the new Levy will be?

our schools ran without excess levies for years. that was before the politicians learned they could buy votes with excess levies by putting their faithful and their excess relatives to work with the levy money.
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 4:30 AM, December 02, 2006

I for one will never vote to give the electorate more money to stick in their pockets. Our schools ran for close to a hundred years without the excess money to steal. All that it accomplished was two more communitys that have lost the heart of that community.
Schools have been the heartbeat of the small communitys across the country but we are finding that with consolidation more money is being spent and wasted on unnecessary projects that have little or no benefit to them except for the loss of a lot of tax dollars.
VOTE NO ON EXCESS LEVY your childs future depends on it.
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 8:52 AM, December 02, 2006

Yes, our schools did run for 100 years with out the levy....but they were in so much debt it took about 2 or 3 maybe more years after the levy past to get our school system out of debt. I have 3 children all who play sports. I work out of town and they need to ride the activity bus home in the evenings, one of my youngest benefits from the after school progams that are offered. You people are assinine if you dont vote for the levy. If you you know all of the unnessesary projects that they are spending on let us know and we will determine whether they are unnessesary or not, because there are very few if any school systems in our state that run without an excess levy. Just like you household, it costs more then what you are paid to run a school system.

did anyone ever find out what the 2.6 million paid to the IRS by the BOE was for. would've bought a lot of votes.
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 12:17 PM, December 02, 2006

Here is a perfect example as to why the levy is BS. Lets say the Sheriff of Clay county takes in $1,000,000 for the year of 2006, do you know how much of that goes to the school system? Unless you say $720,000.00 then you are incorrectly informed. That leaves $280,000.00 for the rest of county government to operate on. This is an example only so don't loose your undies. The actual amount is a lot more money involved. Also for every student enrolled there is an amount paid by the state into the system also. Lets say the amount is $4000.00 per child and you have a 1000 students, you do the math and you also can figure out why a levy is not necessary to operate the school system. There is not a person in this county that can say for sure what the levy dollars were spent on. Don't tell me activity buses either because they have ran them as far back as I can remember without an excess levy. Assinine or not VOTE NO ON THE EXCESS LEVY why should a retired person have to contribute to raising your kids and getting them through school. YOU had them PAY to RAISE them YOURSELF.
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 1:25 PM, December 02, 2006

We're paying to feed/clothe/house/medicate a large majority of parents in this county ... seems reasonable we'd just go ahead & raise their kids, too.
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 6:58 PM, December 02, 2006

You are still paying for most of the kids in Clay County anyway because there are so many welfare people. But that is ok retired or not most people want everything for nothing. Free lunch, no book rental fee, they dont want to contribute to athletic or school fundraisers yet they want their children to look nice in their sports uniforms and have everything that everyone else has at the expense of even the retired tax payers....So get over it buddy...times have changed

Keeping the small schools open would work a lot better if the quality of the teachers didn't match the quality of the playground dirt.
# posted by Anonymous Anonymous : 7:59 PM, December 02, 2006

The quality of teachers has nothing to do with big business and thats exactly what Board of Educations have become. It has nothing to do with the quality of education but the quanity of educating.
Our small schools have been doomed for years now as it is not feasible to keep them open due to the fact that more money is paid if schools are consolidated. How many teachers have lost their jobs due to shutting down the small schools. Not the first teaching job was lost, teachers were transferred to the school where others were consolidated to. Not one janitor nor cook nor bus driver lost their position therefore making it even more feasible to close the elementary schools.
Don't do as I say but say as I do.
VOTE NO ON EXCESS LEVY Feb.24 2007 and start the year off right.

I SAY VOTE YES for the LEVY!!

Yeah there are some teachers that are not so hot but you have that in every job. Most of the teachers in our schools are very creative and excellent teachers. Those that aren't aren't should be delt with i agree however, it is very hard to eliminate a teacher just because one thinks that they arent very good. It is a two or three year process of providing them with a mentor teacher, allowing them to have time to be better and a lot of observation. Not as easy as one might think or like for it to be but such in the case. I havent work a job yet where you have those that do less than you do or are not as adequet....you dont know much about getting rid of employees do you?

The lie worked the last time around.

Watch for the School Board to say, either support the Levy in Feb or we'll shut your school down!

Ask the people at Valley Fork or Ivydale about getting the heart of the community yanked out of them after being told. "Help get the levy passed so we can keep your school open," If it don't pass we are going to shut them down. Well guess what it passed and three years later the news we all wanted to hear came. Shut 'em down they are not cost effecient and besides we can get more money if we close them and $8,000,000.00 was the reward.

HE White and Lizemorers bend over.

VOTE NO ON THE EXCESS LEVY
and watch them fat teachers squirm, they are already cramming the blogs as you can tell from reading here.

don't mind the levy . its the greedy people who will be there first with their hand out that i don't like. the same ones that like me to pay their pension fund by a surcharge on my auto insurance. those who are already getting much more than I.

You had the fun of making them little snotlikkers now have the fun of supporting them and taking them to ball games or what ever other event you deem necessary or choose to do.
I raised my kids and help raise my grankids and will do whatever it takes to support them. Its not the kids I hate being responsible for its the bloodsucking leaches that gets a portion of my insurance payments each time I pay them to support their sorry A**es.
When I did work once upon a time what I paid into my retirement was what my pension was based upon not what I could take away from all my neighbors and their children for my benefit.
I didn't have a state funded pension plan that every honest person who got out and worked their life away had to pay for. And all my friends and neighbors did not retire and work every day for the BOE and draw more pension then I made when I worked either. So take your Excess Levy's and shove them where the sun don't begin to shine because it won't be on my vote nor the vote of anyone I can convince that it is used to line the pockets of a greedy bunch of thieves that continue to steal the people blind and still holler about better education. As far as I know education is the ability to determine when you are getting the shaft by a corrupt government operated by a bunch of local crooks.

In most cases, people who don't like teachers or school in general, were lousy students themselves, and are just perpetuating their frustration and lack of ability through their continued attitudes into adulthood.
Then, because of their poor to non-existent job skills, (ability to read, do basic math, follow simple directions) they parlay their lousy existence into a gripe about people who work and try to provide for themselves, rather than ride the DHH&R gravy train.
IF I would ever win the lottery, I would start at the lower end of the county and visit every business, giving out bonus money to people who had the dignity to get up every day and go to what ever job, regardless of how menial.
I'd stop at every school for the teachers, and the Welfare Office too, but just for the workers. The clients already are getting their bonus. Every month.
